PART TIME/ PER DIEM MEDICAL RECEPTIONIST

We are seeking a Part Time/Per Diem medical receptionist in our busy pediatric office, with the possibility of full time employment.

Objective: Support all front office administrative functions of a busy pediatric medical practice

Reports to: Managing Partner

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Outgoing personality, calm under pressure in busy situations, customer-friendly
  • Ability to juggle phone calls, schedule appointments, and greet patients… and still be smiling at the end of the day
  • Strong work ethic and initiative – the ability to work both as a team member and autonomously are very important

Experience:

  • College education preferred
  • At least one year of experience in a medical practice setting with an electronic health record and billing system is required
  • Prior experience with AthenaHealth’s system is desirable
  • Any billing or office administrative experience is useful

Other Requirements:

  • Must enjoy working with children and families
  • Willingness to work weekends

Full Time or Part Time Medical Assistant

POSITION OPENING FOR FULL TIME OR PART TIME/PER DIEM MEDICAL ASSISTANT

We are seeking a full time or part time medical assistant who loves working with children, to join our team at Sound Beach Pediatrics.

Our medical assistants help care for children from birth to early adulthood. They discuss a child’s symptoms and medical history, and work with fellow clinical staff to provide initial care and monitor our patients’ progress. Our medical assistants will also help with patient phone calls and appointments.

To be a successful medical assistant, you should be kind, compassionate, and caring towards children.

Objective: To assist nurses, nurse practitioners and physicians in patient care

Reports to: Nurse Manager, Managing Partner and/or Physician on Duty

Primary Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Greeting and registering patients
  • Obtaining vital signs
  • Collecting general data to be used by licensed health care professionals in diagnosis, treatment, care planning etc
  • Offering general health maintenance education not related to a diagnosis
  • Assisting in the handling of equipment in preparation for procedures or following up on procedures
  • Assisting with reception duties as needed, including phone calls, booking appointments and handling phone calls

Requirements:

  • Willingness to work on various weekdays and some Saturdays

Qualifications:

  • Preferred 1-2 year experience as a medical assistant (6-12 mo required minimum), and 6-12 months experience in a pediatric office setting
  • Experience in the use of an EMR (Electronic Medical Record), preferably AthenaHealth
  • Computer literate and able to type competently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and enthusiasm in working specifically with children
  • Strong work ethic

Full Time or Part Time Nurse

POSITION OPENING FOR FULL TIME OR PART TIME/ PER DIEM NURSE

We are looking for a caring, dedicated full time or part time pediatric nurse (RN or LPN) with leadership skills and pediatrics experience to work with us at Sound Beach Pediatrics.

Our pediatric nurses are responsible for the medical care of children from birth to early adulthood. Our nurses will discuss a child’s symptoms and medical history, provide initial care, administer prescribed medications, and monitor our patients’ progress. Our nurses also support our families by addressing their problems and concerns at office visits, and by providing patient and parent education.

To be a successful pediatric nurse, you should be kind, compassionate, and love working with children. You should have a broad knowledge of general pediatric nursing care and have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Objective: Assist physicians in overall patient care, including phlebotomy, lab duties, triaging, greeting, and registering patients

Reports to: Nurse Manager, Managing Partner and/or Physician on Duty

Primary Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):

  • Assist physician in every facet of patient care
  • Triage procedures
  • Phlebotomy, specimen handling, conduct tests: urinalysis, rapid strep/flu testing, administering immunizations
  • Document patient information (including detailed information for school & camp physicals)

Requirements:

  • Ability to administer vaccinations and medications
  • Willingness to work on various weekdays and some Saturdays

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-year experience as a practicing nurse, and 1-year experience in a pediatric office setting
  • Associates Degree/Connecticut licensure required
  • Customer service mentality; excellent patient interaction skills; able to handle different and sometimes difficult situations
  • Willingness to work cross-functionally when needed and offer help without being asked
  • Experience in EMR (Electronic Medical Record), preferably AthenaHealth; computer literate and able to type competently
