Alyssa Schunk DO Dr. Alyssa

Early Years

Dr. Alyssa Schunk was born and raised in Westchester, NY. She attended Blind Brook HS but went on to complete her high school career at Greenwich Academy. She attended Amherst College in Massachusetts where she was pre-med and earned a B.A. with a major in Psychology. During her 4 years at Amherst, she was a member of the two-time NCAA championship women’s ice hockey team.

Medical Degree & Residency

She received her medical degree from Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine in NYC. She then went on to complete her pediatric residency at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY.

As a DO trained physician, Dr. Alyssa believes brings a medical perspective and approach to patient care that emphasizes the “whole-person,” sensitive to all aspects health.

In Practice

Dr. Alyssa started her pediatric career at a small practice in Hopewell Junction, NY. She brings her osteopathic medicine-based “whole person” approach to patient care every day. She is excited to be joining the Sound Beach Pediatrics team and to become involved in the community she previously enjoyed so much as a high school student!

At Home & In The Community

Dr. Alyssa lives in Westchester, NY with her husband and two young boys. She is constantly surrounded by her very large extended family whom she adores. She can still be found at rink, along with her husband, playing ice hockey during her free time! She is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics.
