The early years
Liz was born and raised in Richmond, Vermont. She attended elementary, middle and high school in the Richmond area, while making plenty of time to adventure in the Green Mountains. Liz went on to Bowdoin College where she majored in Anthropology, minored in Biology and was a proud member of the 2013 National Championship Field Hockey Team. After graduating from Bowdoin, Liz worked in the non-profit sector, at Housing Vermont, an organization focused on building affordable housing for Vermont families. While at Housing Vermont she worked specifically in eviction prevention, where she saw first-hand the positive impacts that stable housing could have on families and children. Seeking to continue exploring the intersection of health care, housing, and food stability in early childhood, Liz decided to pursue a master’s degree in nursing.
Liz earned her master’s degree in nursing with a specialty in pediatrics from Yale University, is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, and is a board-certified pediatric nurse practitioner. While pursuing her master’s, Liz worked as a research nurse for the Yale Cardiovascular Medicine Department, conducting research on how lifestyle and exercise impact children and adults with genetic cardiovascular conditions.
Liz is incredibly excited (and "feels honored!") to be a part of the wonderful team at Sound Beach Pediatrics. She strives to bring creativity, innovation, empowerment and understanding to each and every patient interaction. Liz hopes to offer parents and children the resources and encouragement to build lifelong healthy habits.
When she’s not at work you can catch Liz running, mountain biking, rock climbing, snowboarding, making strong coffee, and drawing/painting when she needs to give the legs a rest!
